MY REVIEW

I always expect a lot when it comes to female protagonists. And Mikky despite being an art forger and an uncertain soul is a fascinating character.

The book is written in the first person from the perspective of Mikky making it easier for us to follow her wild adventure and the inner storm of her rough individual life. The book often goes in past and gives us an understanding of Mikky's past life and why she is like how she is. It gives the book a lot of character and is a good foundation as a series.

Talking about other characters, they initially seem to have little importance in the main storyline but gradually proved me wrong. I won't give any more details.

The pace is good; especially considering that it gets descriptive about artwork and its history.

The book also spins into historical fiction when the story of the stolen painting The Concert by Vermeer (that got stolen from Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum for real and around which the whole story is written) is turned into a suspenseful and thrilling story by the author.

At times I felt like I had no idea what's going on behind the curtains because since we see and get to know everything with Mikky's perception, our perspective is limited to hers (which was enjoyable).

Plus, art forgery and a mysterious story about stolen paintings sound super AWESOME.

All in all, if you are interested in art and stolen paintings {or even if you don't} this book is sure to thrill and satisfy the reader inside you with its remarkable story.
