 Hey guys!!

Long time no see. Ok, it is been a while since I've recommended a short story for #SSS. Therefore to compensate that at one go, today I am going to be recommending a collection of short stories. This is One Proverb One Tale.

Thanks a lot to the author for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

"You never realized that life was a fine balance between thinking and doing. Do too much and you would be making many mistakes. Think too much and you would not be doing anything. You never thought enough and did enough."

As the title suggests, the book is a collection of 44 short stories each dedicated to one Hindi proverb (which doesn't matter because it's true and understandable in English as well).

I loved the way the author has added so much power to these simple and elegant words to create deeply effective tales. In other words, he said a lot in so little. And sometimes it's those small things only that leaves the deepest impact on your mind.

Further, all the stories are modern that means its set in this time. Hence we can understand its true meaning and implement its significance at the exact time it's required.

The stories are as short as one page or sometimes even 1-2 paragraphs, but that doesn't affect its credibility and virtue of these proverbs.

My favourite story was Overthinking (one of whose lines are also quoted here). It is dedicated to the proverb "Think Too Much Lose Your Focus". It was extremely relatable for me (as I fret over certain things quite unnecessarily) as well as life-affirming.

Trust me that I've heard these proverbs millions of times but didn't know its ethical meaning, that this could be a source of good wisdom.

There is a need to protect, promote and pass on these valuable lessons, in the form of these long-known proverbs that are a huge part of Indian Civilization, to our coming generation.

All in all, if you want to know about Indian Civilization and its implications, I think Proverbs are a good kick start for that.

Even if you are not interested in it but want to read some mind bursting stuff, this is it.

Also, the book is so short, it will hardly take you 15-20 minutes to complete. So, go for it, it's worth your time.
